Sunwaves Facial Studio is a facial-focused studio in Waterdown dedicated to personalized skincare. Every treatment is customized to your skin, your goals and your skin barrier — helping you achieve healthier skin through expert guidance.
Over six years of hands-on skincare work, our founder Anita Samadian kept noticing the same pattern: people genuinely want healthier, more youthful skin — and they rarely get it, because skin only changes with consistency, and the cost of individual facials makes regular care feel out of reach.
That is why the membership exists. It was designed to make consistency easy and accessible — one lower price for regular care — not to lock anyone into a contract. If a monthly rhythm ever stops being right for your skin or your life, no one here will pressure you to keep it.
The studio itself is built to be pressure-free and judgement-free. Everyone is welcome, whatever brings you in: an ongoing skin transformation, a seasonal reset, or simply a relaxing facial with friends. And nothing here runs on trends or a one-facial-fits-all menu — we assess your skin, understand your goals, build a personalized plan, and adjust it as your skin changes.
Waterdown was a deliberate choice, not a pin on a map: a community that values integrity, local business and genuine self-care. That is the studio we set out to be.
Most studios sell from a fixed menu. We do the opposite: every facial here is customized after a proper look at your skin, which is why the same treatment name can mean two different sessions for two different people.
Here is what that looks like in practice. Clients often arrive with a chemical peel or dermaplaning booked as an add-on to their Signature Facial — and the skin assessment sometimes finds a compromised skin barrier that is not ready for either. When it does, we recommend against the add-on we would have been paid for, and spend the session repairing and strengthening the barrier with a customized facial instead.
“Our job isn’t to perform every treatment that’s booked. Our job is to recommend what’s right for your skin on the day you walk through our doors.”
The same principle applies to how you start. Our membership is never required to be cared for here, and we do not put anyone on a treatment plan they did not ask for. Most first-time clients begin with a Signature Facial at $89 or a Skin Consultation at $50, and go from there.
Sunwaves was founded by Anita Samadian, a skin care specialist with six years of hands-on experience, and has been operating since 2020 — in Waterdown since 2026. Anita Samadian and co-owner Krista McLean, an esthetician, lead a small team of fully trained estheticians. Both owners still treat clients, and so does the team — whoever you see, you are in trained hands.
The training never stops: the whole team trains on an ongoing basis with G.M. Collin and Nelly De Vuyst Canada, and in Visia skin analysis. That is what makes the guide-first promise real — you cannot recommend what is right for a skin barrier you have not learned to read.
Our treatment room runs on G.M. Collin and Nelly De Vuyst professional skincare. G.M. Collin is the line our specialty facials are built from, including the Hydrolifting, Sea C Spa and Collagen 90 protocols from $155. We retail only what we actually use in treatment, and only when it solves something.
Adults starting their first real skincare routine, clients managing texture and ageing concerns with targeted treatments, and teenagers who want help without a lecture — the Teen Facial is $75 and is deliberately gentle and educational. Members visit monthly at $89; everyone else visits when it suits them.
