The Teen Facial at Sunwaves Facial Studio in Waterdown, Ontario is $75 and takes 45 to 50 minutes. It is a customized treatment for ages 14 to 18, designed specifically for teenage skin: deep cleanse, gentle exfoliation, extractions if needed, treatment for congestion and breakouts, a customized mask, and professional serums and finishing products. Just as important is what a teen leaves with — simple skincare guidance and education for home, because our goal is to help teens understand how to care for their skin, not just treat it during the appointment. No previous facial experience is necessary, and the approach is support, not over-treatment. For ongoing congestion or breakouts, the Teen Skin Series — four Teen Facials for $250 — supports clearer skin over time while we monitor progress. The studio is appointment-only, Wednesday to Saturday — book online or email us. It also makes a thoughtful birthday gift.

Can a Teen Facial help with breakouts and congestion?

Breakouts and congestion are the most common reasons teens come in. Every Teen Facial is customized to the skin on the day and may include treatment for congestion and breakouts, gentle exfoliation and extractions where needed — always supporting skin health without over-treating. Teen skin changes quickly with hormones, stress, sports and new products, so we also help simplify routines and steer away from unnecessary or overly aggressive products. For ongoing breakouts, the Teen Skin Series (four facials, $250) lets us monitor progress and adjust care over time.

Will my teen feel comfortable at the appointment?

Yes — creating a calm, comfortable experience is one of the four things we focus on with teens, alongside supporting skin health without over-treating, building healthy skincare habits, and educating without overwhelming. No previous facial experience is necessary.

Can I book a facial for myself at the same time?

If you are booking for yourself too, most adults start with the Signature Facial — $89 on a first visit, regularly $135. Specialty facials and targeted treatments go further than a teen facial is meant to, and a $50 skin consultation is the cheapest way to work out which is right for you. If you both end up coming regularly, membership is worth knowing about — it brings each monthly facial to $89.
